OVERVIEW
I mention at the beginning about the 3 wise men in the Nativity following their star. They were, of course, astrologers, so how often do you follow your star? Or are you chasing someone else star? Sometimes we chase someone else’s star because we want to be with them. But how often do you check in with yourself to see if it's what you really want? Or where you really want to go. It's so important to follow our own star and those that are meant to be with us on our journey will be. We have to have faith in that.
So astrologically we have a busy month. Neptune who has been retrograde in Pisces for several months finally turns direct on the 4th. This will feel like an emotional release and help us all breathe a sigh of relief. We have a full moon in Gemini on the 8th and a new moon in Capricorn on the 23rd. As well as the Winter Solstice on the 21st the same day that Jupiter moves into Aries, and a Mercury retrograde on the 29th. So let's look at how this energy is going to affect us all starting with the planet.
HOW WILL THE PLANET FARE?
The event chart for December has plenty of mutable energy suggesting that flexibility is the key for the various hot spots around the planet. With Neptune moving direct in Pisces on the 4th and with its close proximity to Jupiter still in Pisces then there's a potential for more difficulties with bad weather causing flooding. Watch out for your own domestic appliances and guard against burst pipes etc. Mercury begins the month in Sagittarius and speeds up to enter Capricorn in readiness for its retrograde phase starting on the 29th. I feel with Mercury in Sagittarius there will be certain stories hitting the news concerning legal action and the search for truth. This may refer to the ongoing lawsuits against ex-President Trump. But also I feel interesting news could emerge from Russia with the Russian people seeing more of the truth about the war in Ukraine. And the Mercury retrograde then slows events down and puts some very important issues on hold until later in January.
Mercury goes direct in Capricorn on January 18th. And we may see some good newa with the economy as it ends the year on an upward trend with Venus trining the north node and Uranus leading up to Christmas with potentially some pleasant surprises.
HOW WILL IT AFFECT YOU PERSONALLY?
I feel in general there will be a sense of relief that we've nearly made it through yet another year of challenging energies. And with the sun in Sagittarius joined by both Mercury our planet of communication and Venus the planet of relationships we will be enjoying plenty of fun discussions with friends especially those at a distance and looking at how we can link up over the holiday season. Retrograde Mars will still be causing us to reflect on angry words said in haste especially around the full moon in Gemini on the 8th where we might slam doors on certain people or situations only to regret it later. However, when Mercury does goes retrograde at the end of December in Capricorn it will give you the opportunity to build some bridges even if it requires a bit of effort. All in all, I feel despite the climate of austerity and the ongoing challenges of the cold and flu and Covid season we will all be making an effort to make the most of the holidays and a general sense of peace on earth and goodwill to all men will prevail.

Life is what we make it and how creative we can be with the hand we are dealt. Love, empathy and compassion can go a long way to creating a good atmosphere for us all to relax a bit and have some fun.
